Just south of La Crosse, Wisconsin in the hills of the Mississippi River Valley is where I call home. Because of my convenient location near the river, I am fortunate enough to spend a lot of time out fishing whenever I find the time, which is usually around 24 to 30 hours a week. I call Pool 8 of the Mississippi River home, and I know that section of the river particularly well. I also spend a lot of time on pool 7 and Pool 9. Pool 7 has produced a lot of big limits for me, but I still feel that I have a lot to learn up there. I still would like to have more fish going on Lake Onalaska. Pool 9 is a great fishery, although it was off in 2008, the water down there is unique and very fun to fish. After getting my Driver’s license in January of 2008 it was hard to keep my from traveling all over the area and learning new sections of the river and other bodies of water. In 2008 I managed to fish- and catch fish on pools 7,8,9, 4, and 5 of the Mississippi River, as well as a 2nd place Divisional finish on Lake Winnebago. I fished one tournament on the Madison Chain, which was an awesome fishery, and spent around 8 hours of vacation time in my boat on Green Bay and Sturgeon Bay. I was very fortunate to have extreme calm weather there and caught around 14 lbs of smallies throwing senkos and tubes on a rock point with a weed line extending off the rocks. Among these fine fisheries I have also fished Lake Winneconne and the Wolf River.
