I have been fishing the Mississippi River within a 100 mile radius of La Crosse, WI, my hometown, for over 10 years now, with 7+ years of those spent seriously targeting largemouth and smallmouth bass. The past 4 years I have been taking part in FLW and BASS tournaments and each year my schedule includes some higher stakes tournaments then the previous year. I have a lot of serious goals, with many goals that I have already accomplished, and will never stop fighting to become a better fisherman than I was the last time I fished. TRENTON, Mich. — Cade Laufenberg skipped football camp to fish in a tournament this week. The 17-year-old high school senior expected to take a lot of heat from his buddies when he got home to Stoddard, Wis.
Instead, Laufenberg will get a hearty round of congratulations for winning the Co-angler Division of the Stren Series Central Division tournament on the Detroit River. He did it with a three-day weight of 45 pounds, 4 ounces and soon will take delivery of a new Ranger 177TR , which should qualify as one of the hotter rides among his fishing peers in the La Crosse, Wis., area.... Oshkosh June 27-28, site of the 2009 WBFN Junior State championship. The waters of Oshkosh are beaming with big bass. Both Largemouth and Smallmouth can be caught within a few casts of each other. The kids knew this, they were excited and some kids found them in practice. Thirty two kids would converge on these waters to see who would be representing Wisconsin at Divisional’s for there respective age group......Full Story
